Dorothy Vintage brand arose in 2008, created by Aline Arend, a stylist who studied Fashion and  Industrial Modeling at SENAI, besides being graduated in Arts at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) where she studied drawing and photography.

Since an early age Aline has been in contact with fashion and sewer machines. Born in Nova Petrolis, a city in the mountain range of  Rio Grande do Sul she comes from a family known by being involved in the knitting industry and also old schools of fine arts. From these two different inspiring converging sources resulted Aline´s final work. The stylist states that fashion and art are very different fields but according to her, there is a common converging point between both: that one which brings closer both sources and this is the necessary perspective which makes any creation be possible.  Considering that from these two different ways, from the birth of an idea until the final work, they are born and get fed from creativity. The creation of a brand came up from the necessity to bring to today clothes with a touch of Vintage together with a tighter modeling but avoiding any obvious worn out repetition. The influence of Vintage started at an early stage. When Aline was a child she used to spend long hours leafing through grandma´s clothes catalogs from 1940, 50´s, 60´s, 70´s…

Responsible by creation and modeling and even the manufacture of some models, the pieces have a limited distribution and they always keep the exclusivity and care of details resulting in unique and special ones which are the strong point which turned Dorothy into a well known brand.

Before making the decision of opening her own brand, Aline went through the creation and modeling of other brand, Anti-pop, where she developed T-shirts patterns and created feminine clothes besides working as a trainee in Rui Spohr´s studio in Porto Alegre.

Always worried with that what is timeless and walking along her own journey in an independent way towards the biggest trends, Dorothy was born for those who still believe in fashion and freedom and represents a strong way of expressing their personalities and individualities characteristic of any being.
